The Garden in the Kerem

The Garden in the Kerem is a cultural-social-ecological center in the heart of the Yemeni Vineyard in Tel Aviv. The Garden is managed cooperatively, by the community, not for profit, with a donation-based model and with full volunteerism.

The Garden in the Kerem is a cultural-social-ecological center in the heart of the Yemeni vineyard in Tel Aviv, and a community of about 3,000 people.

The Garden is managed cooperatively, by the community, not for profit, with a free giving and receiving transparent economic model, and a circular non-centralized management model.

The Garden is a civilian initiative and is not dependent on any business or governmental organization.

Within months of its foundation, the government turned into a central cultural institution in Tel-Aviv, and gathered around it a large community of various ages, sectors, and socio-economic backgrounds. The Garden in the Kerem provides food, clothing, culture, infrastructure, housing, etc., free of charge to hundreds and thousands of people. The Garden was founded and is operated with no monetary budget.

The economic and organizational model of The Garden is an example of healthier economic and governmental systems; It applies, in practice, the insights I describe in my theoretical work.

The Garden is a space free of trash and screens, and thousands of residents enjoy the activities that take place there.

At The Garden there are activities in three realms: Nature, Others and Me.

Nature: urban agriculture, compost, second-hand fair, sale of ecological soaps, composting services, beekeeping and more.

Others: distributing food to the needy, various support groups, activities with the elderly and more.

Me: personal development workshops, yoga and meditation, artist fairs, live performances and more.

I founded the garden at the beginning of 2020, and have led the community for a number of years.

Writing about a new world isn’t enough. One must live it.

In accordance with the principles of Social Threefolding and will-based economics, I’ve decided to offer all of my work on this planet free of charge.
