TreeBog Toilets

The Garden in the Kerem, Tel Aviv · 2021

TreeBog toilets are ecological toilets that work without water or waste removal. This pilot took place at "The Garden in the Kerem".

Well, the toilets have now been working for a whole year.

Today's sewage system is one of the least efficient systems we have. Here we created a small model that can serve as an alternative.

Of course, scaling it up to larger orders of magnitude will require further planning.

Our feces and urine are fertilizer, and they can be treated locally – without giant filters and a network of pipes carrying sewage that eventually finds its way into the sea.
